Veil Beauty Collective
Veil Beauty Collective is a salon in Decatur that focuses on color, cuts and various aesthetic treatments. The owners wanted to create a dark and moody vibe for the space as a counterpoint to so many other salons that are full of light materials and clinically bright. We were able to incorporate some of the raw concrete elements of the space to play against the dark palette. The large north facing storefront wall helps to balance things with a massive amount of natural light.

Tall retail bays hold such potential to create grand spaces. Other times it’s important to break the scale of the larger space into something more manageable, like a room within a room. The main salon area, comprising entry, waiting, cutting, and shampoo, is open while the private rooms and break room are intimate enclosed rooms.
